EXHIBITION & EVENT PROGRAMME: DISLOCATIONS – WITHIN REACH

OPENING: 05/07/2025, 18.00 – 21.00 (with drinks & music in the courtyard)

within reach is the second programme sequence of DISLOCATIONS. Focusing on post-migrant lifeworlds, it relates them to the history of the exhibition venue and its surroundings. While the history of the former galerie weisser elefant is mainly told in terms of inner-German East-West migrations due to its foundation in the late GDR, the exhibition explores post-Soviet, Southeast European and transcontinental connections.

The exhibition brings together works by Daniela Kneip Velescu, Songhak Ky and Mila Panić, which explore the everyday experience of migration through the creation of in-between spaces. Their installations recount biographical tales as intertwining processes, offering a fragmented perception of home that both incorporates and challenges prevalent migratory narratives.

Kunst Raum Mitte’s 2025 program DISLOCATIONS is curated by Natalie Keppler & Agnieszka Roguski (Artistic Directors KRM). Associated Researcher/Curator Songhak Ky: Sarnt Utamachote.
