EXHIBITION: THE CITY OF WOMEN

OPENING: 21/11/2025

The City of Women is an exhibition consisting of four parts, which are a historic overview of the “Women’s Issue”, complemented by artistic and activist contemporary commentaries : Gutsy, curated by Julia Bryan-Wilson, Other Tomorrows by Michalina Sablik and Vera Zalutskaya, Her Heart by Karolina Gembara, and We were there. International Women’s Year 1975, curated by Wiktoria Szczupacka.

This mosaic of various attitudes and aesthetics is a testimony to the richness, diverse traditions and the strength of feminist art, which will be presented in parallel with the historical, monumental exhibition “Female Question 1550-2025”.

In the “City of Women” we can find many perspectives that relate to both well-known and established research topics related to art created by artists, as well as follow the transformation of current artistic sensitivity in the area.

The exhibition opens at a moment, when the concern for women’s rights in Poland is again coming to the forefront, and years of mobilization and activism are not producing the desired results. The basic posture of various forms of feminist art is equality, and art strengthens political imagination, which can give it a realistic shape.

Curatorial cooperation from MSN: Sebastian Cichocki, Jagna Lewandowska, Szymon Maliborski
