PARTY: SOIREE IN MEETFACTORY
The last gallery and residency event of this year will be the traditional Soirée party, which will take place on Wednesday, November 26. The program includes a guided tour of exhibitions and studios, an artist talk with Martins Kohout, Open Studios, and, last but not least, a meeting with MeetFactory residents and curators of the visual arts section.
Admission to the event is free.
The exhibition Leaving the house with an open fire, but briefly will be presented not only by curator Ján Gajdušek during a guided tour, but also during an artist talk, which will provide an opportunity to meet Martins Kohout (winner of the Jindřich Chalupecký Award in 2017).
He is an interdisciplinary artist active in Berlin and Prague. Their research-based practice combines video, installation, performative forms, and publishing, focusing on how digital communication and technology shape interpersonal relationships, the perception of time, and the current forms of loneliness.
During the guided tour, there will also be free admission to the Kostka Gallery, where you can visit the installation Resting Horizonby the duo Anna Slama & Marek Delong.
Open Studios will take place for the last time this year. Roni Hajaj, who works across sculpture, painting, collage, sound, and installation, Paula Gogola, who deals with themes such as hormonal transformation, contamination, desire, and care, and Julia Lusser, who is interested in how cultural practices, historical contexts, and social perceptions shape our understanding of intoxication and alcohol consumption; Samuel di Gainni, who is involved in research into alchemy, among other things; Dávid Koronczi, who focuses on the intersections of growing, cooking, and consuming food with artistic strategies; and Laura Mesa Lima, who deals with the concept of the third landscape.
