WORKSHOP: LANGUAGES OF CARE – MEMINARIUM
TRANZIT invites you to join for a collaborative event – Languages of Care workshop with the Plenum of Care (POOS), where we will explore the language of care—both through the body and through words—and then co-create a visual collage based on a shared collection of verbs describing caregiving actions.
This workshop is intended for those who see themselves as caregivers: at home, in art, at work, or beyond. We welcome all individuals working in the fields of art, literature, theatre and culture institutions. The workshop will be conducted in English, with elements of spontaneous Slovak-Polish translation.
Due to the nature of the workshop, we invite adults only (if you need childcare during the event, please let us know in your registration; during the session we will provide care by a qualified facilitator for participants’ 3 – 7 years old children).
What will we do?
– Move
– Write, talk, read
– Brainstorm
– Paint or write on canvas
– Collaborate with others
The Languages of Care – Meminarium will be led by Ada Adu Rączka (poet, painter, and thinker), Dorota Walentynowicz (photographer, researcher, and visual artist), and Wera Morawiec (curator and meme creator), with the support of Anna Steller (performer and dancer) and Ania Witkowska (visual artist, graphic designer, and lecturer).
The workshop Languages of Care is led by POOS as part of Meminarium (an ongoing project), a unique meeting format in which we explore the theme of care through various practices (including discussions, movement, and word-formation exercises).
Previous Meminaria have taken place in Poland at various contemporary art institutions (Galeria Arsenał in Białystok, Zachęta National Gallery of Art, and the Museum of Modern Art on Pańska Street in Warsaw).
Places are limited – please register by emailing to application/./tranzit/./sk/@/gmail/./com until 6. 06. 2025*
A day before this event, on Friday, there will be an open workshop with the Plenum of Care in Summer reading corner, Medical Garden, — free and open to everyone, including children, with no need to register. Feel free to join us!
