EXHIBITION: YANA NAIDENKO / FROM THE SKETCHBOOK
OPENING: 24/04/2025, 18.00
Curator: Živa Kleindienst
The graphic designer and painter Yana Naidenko will present a series of works on paper from her sketchbook in the UGM Šop, in which she records scenes from everyday life. The scenes from the streets, train stations, portraits of family members and friends are first photographed and then transferred to paper using ballpoint pens, markers, watercolours, tempera and pastels. This creative process enables her to capture the moment, the emotion and the atmosphere.
Yana Naidenko is a Ukrainian artist who lives in Maribor. She graduated from the National Academy of Urban Economy in Kharkiv, where she later worked as a graphic designer and studied painting and drawing. She is interested in art as a carrier of identity and how art can become a way of coping with the experience of displacement. She has exhibited in group exhibitions in Ukraine and participated in art residencies.
