PERFORMANCE: ECOLOGY OF CLOSENESS
Performance Ecology of Closeness in the exhibition Sahej Rahal: Beyond the City of Time.
How does empathy travel beyond the edges of the human body, into materials, sounds, and environments? And what tension unfolds in the space between bodies? This performance is as a choreography of layers, resonances, and distributed attention within Sahej Rahal’s exhibition Beyond the City of Time. In dialogue with Rahal’s morphing biomes – swarming tentacles, insect-like particles, and touch-responsive meshes – the performance evolves as a network of relations in constant communication between the human and more-than-human, animate and inanimate, present and imagined. Listening with the skin, negotiating boundaries, and experiencing the body as porous, the performers navigate the paradox of touch: even in its absence, it remains the ground of perception.
We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday, April 15, at 6 pm. Tickets will be available for purchase at the entrance to Galerie Rudolfinum before the event begins.
The performance will be preceded by a workshop Ecology of Closeness: Practices of Empathy with choreographer and performer Alica Minar on Tuesday, April 14, from 4 pm to 6 pm at Galerie Rudolfinum. More information about the workshop can be found here.
