What evokes a knot in you? Do you remember the famous Gordian knot, which could not be untied and could only be cut? The object in the public space, created by the BN Label collective, borrows some of the connotations associated with a similar motif. On the white square in front of the Barracks/Kulturpark, you will be surprised by the Knot artwork during the White Night on October 6-8, 2023, and you can think about how to untie it.

A knot can evoke a problem, a complication, an often intractable situation. It intertwines organically and it is difficult to read how the individual undulations and turns intersect: also whether it is composed of several parts or is one long formation. It can also be read as a personification of situations in public space that seemingly have no satisfactory solution and in which it is difficult to untangle the fabric of diverse needs and interests. However, at the same time, with its color and shape, it evokes another element of our streets, namely children’s climbing frames and slides.
