FESTIVAL: SOLOMIYA STUDIO
Solomiya Magazine announces the very first event of Solomiya Studio Festival hosted by KVOST (Kunstverein Ost) – launch of the newest edition (No.4) The Environmental Issue on February 5, 19.00.
Curated by the team of Solomiya Magazine the festival will take place at KVOST between 05.02.2025 – 19.02.2025. This event brings the magazine’s distinctive mix of discourses into a dynamic physical space. While Solomiya Studio initiates with the launch of the new Environmental Issue, it also serves as a collective starting point for the upcoming Issue No. 5. We warmly invite you to join us.
From weapon semantics to peace agreements, from wilted flowers to simplified landscapes, Solomiya Studio serves as a space for critical reflection and mutual interest, addressing contemporary concerns, cultural transformations, and the role of art in times of war. Through a diverse program of performances, installations, panel discussions, and publishing projects, Solomiya Studio tackles urgent questions surrounding various forms of violence. Ranging from colonial violence and ecocide to the fragility of peace agreements and the rise of far-right extremism in Germany, power relations and their misuse are discussed, departing from Russia’s ongoing military invasion of Ukraine.
Beyond its diverse program of events, Solomiya Studio welcomes visitors at any time to enjoy tea throughout the day and explore the exclusive festival library, featuring a curated selection of books and magazines.
